99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne – I was really disappointed by this book and I kind of hate myself for it. It was my most anticipated new release of 2019, my dear friend Tonile had gifted me a copy, and I was convinced it was going to bump me out of the reading slump I had fallen into. In the end, it was just… confusing? I’m not sure if it was because I actively disliked the main character, or a lack of exposition throughout the story but I found it difficult to connect with the romance. Although this an easy read, I struggled to finish it as fast as I usually would have. If you’re a superfan of Sally Thorne this might be worth picking up, but otherwise you should probably hold off and wait until her next release.

Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M. McManus – This was a fun and enjoyable thriller from one of my favourite young adult authors. I can see this easily being adapted into a TV show or a movie, and that is one of the marks of a good thriller for me. If I can easily see it all playing out in my head and making sense, it works. This was a fast read, and I found it really easy to get caught up in the plot. I also love an ending that I don’t anticipate or I’m not able to guess, and this book did just that.

What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera – This was the Read Your Face Off Buddy Read book for February/March, and true to my procrastinating nature I picked it up in the middle of March. Overall I enjoyed this, but honestly for the majority of the book I found the side characters far more likeable than the two main protagonists. Despite that, I was able to get pulled into the romance of the book and enjoy it.
