Hi there! long time no see. I’ve been thinking quite hard about what direction I wanted to take the blog in this year, and to be honest I’ve been wondering if I want to continue with it at all. I’ve decided for now that I do, but the overall theme of the blog may change slightly. I’m feeling the pull to lean more towards personal tracking and journalling, for myself rather than anything else. I don’t tend to read blogs anymore, so now I think if I’m going to write I may as well write for myself. I will still include a lot of similar content (what I’m reading, what beauty products I’m loving, etc), but I’m going to try and inject my voice into the posts a little bit more. Because I find that is one thing missing from a lot of blogs, and it’s one thing that has always drawn me to read (and keep reading) a blog. Here’s an old favourite to start with – Empties. Here’s what I’ve used up so far this year –

Bioderma Crealine H2O – Remember when this first became really popular in Australia and everyone went absolutely bonkers for it? This really is one of the best products for removing makeup, and it’s been a lifesaver for me on many occasions where my winged eyeliner has gone a bit wonky. To be honest, I tend to skip the step of removing makeup before cleansing my face at night, so I don’t think I’ll repurchase this just yet. I have a similar product from another brand sitting in my cupboard waiting to be used, and I think I’ll opt for that in the case of eyeliner disaster for now.

Givenchy Photo Perfexion Foundation in Perfect Ivory – My blood runs cold every time I finish another bottle of this foundation, because it means I’m one step closer to the bottom of my stash. Lately I’ve been considering looking into a new foundation, mostly because this one is a bit of a pain in the butt to get my hands on. Any and all suggestions for a lightweight foundation for very fair skin are welcome!

YSL Touche Eclat in #1 – This is one of those products I buy every now and then when I’m feeling particularly spendy. I never repurchase it right away, because although I’d consider it a holy grail sort of product, it’s not something I can’t live without.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara – I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it before, but I never stray from this mascara. If you haven’t tried this mascara yet, I urge you to pick it up next time you’re in the market for one. It’s honestly the best I’ve ever used, and I can see myself staying loyal to it for years to come.

Ecoya Reed Diffuser in Coconut & Elderflower – This mini reed diffuser was a gift with purchase at Freedom a year or so ago, and I’m so glad I was exposed to it because this scent is truly lovely and is now my favourite to have in the bedroom. I picked up a full sized version of this as soon as the mini ran out.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle EDP – This has been one of my favourite perfumes for around ten years now. I can’t remember what first inspired me to pick it up, but I know I’ve nearly always had a bottle of this in my collection ever since age 19 or 20. I’ll always remember one holiday with friends where a male friend of mine picked up my scarf and took a great big sniff of it and exclaimed how lovely it smelled. All thanks to Coco Mademoiselle. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this scent, and when I tell people what I’m wearing they’re often disappointed because they already own it. I love that fragrance can smell so different on people, and I’m happy this one works so well for me.
