December Empties

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser – This is my daily body cleanser, and because I use it every day I go through these large tubs frequently. This is an auto-repurchase for me, and I always have a back-up on my shelf ready to go for when the tub I’m using runs out. This is a great cleanser to use if you have sensitive skin.

Herbal Essences ‘Hello Hydration’ Shampoo – This is one of my favourite “drug store” shampoos, and I find I always go back to it when I’m looking for a new shampoo. It’s great for fine hair prone to oiliness (like mine), and I find it leaves my hair feeling really soft and silky. I know I’ll be repurchasing this in the future when I can’t think of anything else to try.

Original Source Coconut & Shea Butter Shower Gel – These inexpensive shower gels that you can buy at Coles and Woolworths are actually really good quality. This is Sebastian’s favourite from the range, so I pick it up whenever I spot it (and when he’s low in whatever shower gel he’s using at the moment). The smell is definitely more shea butter than coconut, and I know this because Sebastian loathes coconut scented things.

Paula’s Choice Hydralight Toner – Things that are upsetting: the Hydralight range has been removed from the Paula’s Choice website. This has been my holy grail skin care range for a few years now, so hopefully I can find something I like just as much from Paula’s Choice; otherwise it’s back to Dermalogica for me. I have a couple of these toners squirreled away, so I’m not completely out just yet. These are dark days.

Glasshouse ‘Night Before Christmas’ Candle – I’ve had this candle for around 5 years and that’s probably because I only burn it around Christmas. Whenever I smell it, I’m automatically transported to Christmas and it’s wonderful. To be honest the candle is not completely burned down, but the plastic lining of the glass has started to bubble out and melt so I decided it was time to let it go. I probably won’t repurchase this particular candle, but I’ll definitely be picking up another Christmas-themed one at the end of the year.

Paula’s Choice Clear Cleanser (travel size) – I ordered this with the intention of having Sebastian use it to help control his oily skin situation, instead I ended up using it on my hormonal acne. This worked really well, and I am going to purchase a full size version for the odd occasions when my skin breaks out. After Project 50 Pan!

Laura Mercier Loose Powder (in translucent) – This is my favourite loose powder, and I’m always equal part amazed and devastated when I use up a full container. I’m making my way through a Clinique powder at the moment, but I will definitely be returning to this in the future.

NARS Creamy Concealer (in vanilla) – This is my new holy-grail concealer. The only thing I don’t like about it is that because of the packaging I feel like there is a LOT left that I haven’t been able to use. Still, I’ll continue to repurchase it because I just love how god damn creamy it is.

Paula’s Choice Hydralight Moisturiser – This is my go-to moisturiser, and luckily I have one (maybe more?) stashed away for when this ran out. When that runs out I’m not sure what I’ll do. PANIC.

Dermalogica Active Moist – This is second to the throne as far as holy grail moisturisers are concerned, and I was happy to switch things up during December and finish off this tube. It’s lovely and lightweight which makes it a really good product to use during the warmer months of the year. Highly recommend.
