* Drink over 2 litres of water a day – This seems like something that would be fairly easy to achieve, but I’m amazed at how many days would go by where I would drink 1 litre or so and just forget to have any more after that. I have a lot of digestive issues and drinking the right amount of water each day helps me a lot with that, so it’s a priority for me. I can see this being included a lot.
* Make time to go through my skin care routine every night – Lately I’ve been flopping into bed with a face full of makeup, and my skin (and lovely sheets) are paying for it.
* Finish one book – I’m doing my best to avoid a reading slump this year (having my four book rotation is helping with that), and having this weekly goal is helping me to be motivated to read as much as I can. Reading really is so beneficial for me, it’s a great way of winding down and switching off without staring at a screen, and it’s always been a passion of mine so it’s something else I’m making a priority.
* Do one meditation session – I feel like meditation is one of those things that I get a lot of benefit from, but it’s hard to make time to do. But then again they do say that if you don’t have time to meditate, you obviously really need to meditate, because your life must be pretty hectic. My favourite kinds of meditation are chakra balancing, and stress relief. I get a lot of mental relaxation from the two.
* Make time to stretch / breathe each day – Yes I do breathe each day, obviously. However I like to take 5 minutes or so each day to stretch out my body and focus on taking long, deep breaths. You’d be amazed at how shallow my breathing is. I’m actually amazed I’m not dead yet.
* Make time every day to run through my affirmations and things I’m grateful for – Yes, I am one of those people. But honestly, don’t knock it until you try it. Taking a few minutes in the morning to focus on positive energy and all the things you’re grateful for can be a really wonderful start to the day. I tend to write down 2-3 things I’m grateful for in the notes section of my phone before I even get out of bed. Then either in the shower or on the way to work I say my little affirmations out loud. I’ve found these small steps have made a huge impact on my mood and how I view the world. If you want to start with something small, try working “money comes to me easily” into your daily affirmations – and then pay attention to your budget for the next few weeks. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
